For years, the best recovery equipment in California sat in locked rooms at the Olympic Training Centers in Chula Vista and Colorado Springs. Cold plunge tanks, infrared saunas with wavelength precision, compression boots calibrated to your blood pressure — tools that could cut recovery time in half but that regular athletes couldn't access.

Central Coast Recovery Lab changed that when it opened in January in a converted warehouse on the Morro Bay estuary. Founder Dr. Priya Laghari spent eight years in sports medicine at UC Davis before moving to SLO County and deciding the coast needed a recovery facility that wasn't attached to a gym or a spa. "I wanted the science without the wellness theater," she says.
